A hot tub is a useful piece of equipment to have. Not only is it great for relaxing in, it can also be used for a number of different exercises to help you recover your over-worked muscles or to improve your muscle tone. Take a look at the following which we put together with AquaWarehouse.co.uk and do them at your own pace. Of course if you suffer from any concerns it’s a good idea to consult your GP before you begin.
To Relieve Neck Pain…
Muscular pain in the shoulders or neck can be relieved by doing the following exercises. Whilst sitting in your tub, tilt your head back. Tilt it over to the left slowly, then to the right. Tilt it up, then down and finally rotate your head gently in a full circle. Do this several times to improve stiffness.
To improve the tone and appearance of your stomach, whilst sitting in your hot tub pull in your abdominal muscles and hold for several seconds. Repeat several times and do this exercise each time you use your hot tub.
For Tight Calf Muscles…
If your calf muscles are feeling tight, whilst sitting in your hot tub push against the end of the tub with your toes. If you hold for three or four seconds then relax and repeat several times, you should find your muscles are not quite so tight.
For Tight Shoulder Muscles…
To relieve tight upper shoulder muscles, whilst sitting in the hot tub, pull up shoulders towards your ears. Hold the position for a few seconds, relax and repeat four or five times.
And Finally The Forearms…
A couple of great exercises for the forearms are to extend the arms out to the front with the palms facing down. Rapidly cross and uncross the arms in a scissor action and repeat several times. You can also spread your fingers out under the water and flutter them as if playing a piano. Repeat this one several times also.
